Going in Circles, a technique class for making inset circles
Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, 2 – 5 pm, $45
Skill level:  confident beginner
Class limit: 10

I demonstrate an amazing freezer paper method of making beautiful inset circles — no special ruler needed and no pinning of concave and convex seams! This is the method I use in my patterns Full Moon Rising (shown at right) and Full Moon Rising II. After my demo, students make an inset circle using scraps from their stashes.

I also demonstrate an easy technique for finished-edge applique circles using fusible interfacing, which students then replicate, and show how I create quilt labels with an inset circle and a ring of contrasting fabric like the one shown below.

Fractured Images
Jan. 10, 2026, 10 am – 3 pm, $65
Skill level: confident beginner
Class limit: 8

It’s easier than you think to “fracture” an image, creating a ripples-in-a-pond effect using four repeats of fabric. The magic is in the cutting and arranging of squares, and I guide students in the process. Project size varies. Students can make a small wall hanging or incorporate their fractured image into a larger quilt.
