After 11 weeks, we have running water again in our upstairs bathroom! The water is flowing fromthese lovely faucets:
Be sure to check out thetile backsplash, which matches the tile designon the other sideof the bathroom. Doesn’t it look good?
Here’s a full view of the vanity (taken froma rather odd angle):
Thetoilethas been installed!
And wehave glass walls in the shower!
Can you tell I’m excited?I’m so ready for the bathroom to be complete.
Last week we were faced with a dilemma. We originally thought theremnant of Pental quartz chosen for the vanity was large enough for both the vanity and thetop of the half-wall that forms an alcove around the toilet. The piece left over after the vanity was cutturned out to be just a few inches shy.Should we wait a bit, hoping anotherremnant would surface? Or cap the wall with wood trim instead? I asked my contractors to keep looking, andon Friday they found a small remnant ofmy quartz.
MaybeI’ll be able to show you photos of the wall cap in the next installment of our Bathroom Reno report. Thanks so much for stopping by.
It looks fabulous!

Thanks, Peg! How is your bathroom remodel coming along?
It’s all incredibly lovely! Exquisite vani and backsplash. I truly love the furniture style of vanity. Happy accident, there, Dawn! Amazingly, even the toilet has kind of a vintage appearance. Top notch! Hey – if you know any tricks about keeping the shower walls nice and clear, let me know. Cannot get ours clean!
Hi Lisa! We paid about $200 extra to have the glass walls coated with a product called Diamond Seal. It’s supposed to create a clear protective barrier to keep soapy water from leaving a film. You’re still supposed to wipe down the walls and clean them with a special cleaner every couple of weeks to keep any build-up from occurring.
getting close to champagne time! Everything looks so great! Enjoy!!!!!
It is looking so beautiful!
